Bookshelves are one of the most important parts of home decoration, to most people they’re most important. Organizing a bookshelf can be a hassle and you’ll know that because people are often looking for ways to get these shelves organized. My readers have been asking me to do a book shelf post so I’ve finally done it.

If you’ve never decorated or organized a book shelf before then you don’t need to worry. There’s no right way to organize a book shelves as you can do them in multiple ways, basically anything that fits your style. You can redesign your shelves anyway you please.

I’ve got enough designs for you to rap inspiration from, these designs are on another level and you’ll love them. I’ve got some unorthodox designs you’ve never thought of before. Most of these designs are very easy to achieve. If you’ve already got something in mind then feel free to add more ideas to it.

Mixing your books with other items is one of the best practices I’ve seen as far as decoration is concerned. These items helps to maintain a nice aesthetic, there making that place part of the home decoration and not just a place for storing your book.

This is a nice arrangement that has the combination of books and other items. You’ve got your books and items like plant pots, wall arts and lights. These items are all on a nice plank setup between the wall corner. This is a good idea if you want to save space.

Farmhouse styles are always the best if you as me and I love to have create them. These rustic materials tend to bring a nice traditional look to your space. If you’ve caught in the middle between a modern and an old vintage style and you don’t know what to pick, then a farmhouse style should be perfect.

This is a combination of two shelf arrangements on each side of the door, with the top plank connecting from one end to the other. I’d love to that say this is the easiest but there are easier ones along the way. This is very easy and you don’t need experience to perfect this.

I love a simple design, most people just want something simple and easy to achieve. Not everyone wants to create something that has loads of design, some people just like the minimalist approach. These are also the easiest to redesign because there’s not much to do.

If you’re going for a simple style then be sure to do it well. You can create a separate look for your bookshelf wall, this helps to make that area stand out. If you’re going to give the walls a design then you have to arrange your books in a way that they can be seen.

You can make a simple design look very complex, I’ve seen people create a simple design that is better than most shelves. The key is to know how to use your space very well. Items like wall arts, plant pots, and other small lights can also place a huge part.

There are many ways to make a very classy look for your bookshelf and this is one of them. This is a simple look but it’s arranged in a very professional way. The wall arts are also part of this arrangement as they’re place between the shelves which are not connected as most bookshelves are.

Tv stand is not usually the place to arrange books but what if you change that. It’s very rare to find people who use their tv stand to arrange books as that’s usually a place meant for console and other tv related devices. You can create the most artistic tv stand/bookshelf combination.

These are initial bookshelves on both sides of the tv but you can see that they connect to the tv stand, this makes the tv area look very artistic. You’ve got colorful books in both side of the stand and also inside the stand too. The color combination of the books also plays a big part.

If you love to collect books and you’ve got too many books lying around then it’s time to make a mini library in your living room. I’ve seen too many mini library setup in the living room space so I know how to set them up. This is more of a professional setup, though you’ll need to do the organizing yourself.

A ladder would be a great ideas if your walls are too tall for you to reach and it’s also a fun experience too. You can arrange your books in a way that it shows the colorful side, this will make your space look very colorful. The same color can be used for all parts of the shelf.

If you don’t have a large book collection but you want to create a bookshelf then that’s also very possible. For me, this is even better because I don’t have too many books. You’ll need to create a nice space on the wall for your shelves, you won’t need too much space because it’s a small arrangement.

You’ll need to get items like clay pots, plant pots, candle holders, wall arts and some crafts if possible. These items will help fill those spaces till you get enough books, you can even leave the arrangement like that because it’ll look more artistic.

You can always make a simple decoration look very cool and that’s the goal. A lot of beautiful decorations can be made with just a long plank setup. Most people think they need to use the biggest or the most expensive looking bookshelf to create a perfect design but that’s far from it.

This is a very straightforward organization that can literally be done by anyone, you can literally do this setup as a beginner. As you place your books, always leave space for other items like plant pots. The first layer is reserved for the plant pots while the rest are filled with books, this is a very nice idea.

Whenever you’re creating or organizing your bookshelf, don’t forget that you have to make that area match the layout the entire space. For example, if you’re creating a bookshelf in your living room then that shelf has to match the layout of the living room itself.

Using the same or similar colors for your bookshelf as your existing space, makes the entire room look unique. The shelf here covers the entire wall but doesn’t deviate from the colors and style of the room itself. You can always place items of different colors on the shelf but they have to match the existing colors.

There are some colors that will give you both a vintage and modern look and green is one of them. I’ve decorated a lot of living rooms in a midcentury modern style and one color that’s always consistent is dark green. This is the best color to use if you want that vintage look.

This shelf design might just be my best on here, it looks very lively. This division method is one I’ve seen a lot but this particular one stands out for me. I like the idea of shelf division but this is the best I’ve seen. You can literally place any thing in the middle, a mirrors is placed here with a frame that matches the shelves.

Your shelves should not stop you from your all-white dream. An all white setting is one of my best and it’s literally the best when it comes create a neat look. Having a bookshelf with colored book covers might distort that all white setting a little, you can always use a white book cover for all the books.

You can make white book covers with craft papers or just newspapers will do. I made an all white bookshelf for my sister and I used white book covers because she didn’t what the colored covers to spoil the all white look.

Bookshelf setup can be a little weird because you can literally have them anywhere, it’s one of those setups that you can have in your entryway, bedroom, living rooms or attic. Books contribute to the decoration of any home so it’s no surprise that people place them anywhere.

Tv place is a new place people are focusing on because they’re perfect for book organization. Simply make the shelf around the tv like you would for a normal tv stand, then place your books on those shelves. Wall arts, plant pots and many things can go on the shelf space.

Most people don’t read too much books so they just do a very small setup. If you’ve got small book collection then there’s no need to do a very big setup like most people who have a large collection. There’s going to be a lot of spaces because you don’t have enough books so you’ll have to place other items there.

Usually, you’ll find most shelves to be tall or placed above as most people see them as part of home decoration, this is very different as the books are placed below. This is a different shelf pattern and I love the idea.

Don’t be boring by creating a simple shelve shape that most people opt for, try to go for something different. I love a different design, I like the idea of doing something innovative. You’re not going to find this arrangement easily as it’s not very popular.

The shape formed here is very easy and can be done by anyone. Set up your planks in a shake you want them, I’ll love to go from descending order to ascending so it’ll for a v-shape. I suggest you go for the v-shaped method as it’ll be a lot better than this one.

Nothing beats a nice farmhouse design, I love a nice farmhouse style as they’re my best. A good farmhouse style will last you for years without getting outdated. If you’ve don’t plan on recreating for a long time then it’ll be nice to go for a nice rustic design.

Placing different items along with the books is my preferred style of decoration. This is a rustic style so placing traditional items should be the next move. Your wicker baskets, plant pots and vintage candle holders should be perfect.
